About Me

Why I chose youth psychiatry
Long before I became a psychiatrist, I was drawn to the creative spark and emotional depth of young people.
My years spent working in community programs and youth spaces showed me how much can shift when kids feel seen, safe, and supported. I’ve always found joy in creative projects—from composing music to building board games, writing children’s fiction, and contributing to a national youth ‘zine for several years.
These passions continue to shape how I connect with the kids and teens I work with. I love helping them rediscover the imagination, insight, and resilience that’s already within them—because I’ve seen how transformative that spark can be.
How I can help
As a board-certified psychiatrist serving families in Brentwood, Nashville, and across Tennessee and California, I offer comprehensive, compassionate care for teens and young adults facing challenges like anxiety, depression, OCD, and ADHD.
I take time to understand the full picture—your child’s strengths, struggles, and inner world. Together, we create a treatment plan that may include therapy, lifestyle changes, and when needed, carefully considered medication.
I also support you, the parent, with education and tools so you feel confident in your role. You won’t have to navigate this alone.
What it’s like to work with me
Every young person is different—and so is the path to healing. Here’s how I guide your family through a thoughtful, personalized process designed to support real progress.
1.
Understand the Whole Picture
We start by exploring your child’s symptoms, strengths, and story—so treatment is tailored to who they truly are.
2.
Build a Thoughtful Plan
I collaborate with you and your child to design a care plan that’s holistic, evidence-informed, and realistic to execute.
3.
Support Meaningful Growth
Together, we track progress, adjust as needed, and help your child gain clarity, confidence, and emotional resilience.
