What they’re going through
Your child might look fine on the outside—but inside, they’re carrying more than they know how to express. Whether they’re withdrawing, overwhelmed by emotions, or struggling with identity and connection, it can be hard to know how to help.
These years are complex, and even bright, capable young people can lose their way.
When should a teen or young adult seek psychiatric treatment?
If the challenging emotions or behaviors are constant, rather than things that only come up now and then
There are also certain diagnoses or issues which often need the support of a psychiatrist: “neurodevelopmental differences” such as diagnoses of Autism, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, and other similar conditions.
But even beyond these reasons, you can always call a psychiatrist or mental health professional if you’re wondering about how to improve your child’s quality of life: to help them go from just scraping by to thriving, feeling fulfilled, and fully supported.
How psychiatric services help adolescents & young adults
Psychiatry isn’t just about medication—it’s about understanding your child’s unique experience and guiding them toward clarity and growth.
I offer a safe, affirming space where we can explore what’s going on beneath the surface and work collaboratively to support emotional well-being. With the right support, young people can reconnect with their strengths, develop a stronger sense of self, and move forward with greater confidence and purpose.
I’m here to help your child rediscover who they are and who they’re becoming.
What makes psychiatric care at Inspire different?
We provide the strongest care by combining up-to-date research with a plan tailored to your child’s unique circumstances—and we take time to truly listen: to your child, to you, and to the full story behind the symptoms.
Our care is collaborative, relational, and deeply thoughtful—very different from the rushed, one-size-fits-all model many families encounter in larger or corporate settings. Because mind, body, and environment are interconnected, we pair gold-standard evaluation and careful prescribing with coaching on nutrition, sleep, daily habits, and healthy social connection—topics often overlooked elsewhere.

You’ve helped us out so much, through everything.
Thanks to you, he’s not only alive and well, but he’s back to the young man I know. He’s thriving, doing the best he’s ever done, and has graduated high school.

What to expect in teen/young adult psychiatric care sessions
I take a comprehensive, person-centered approach that may include therapy, lifestyle guidance, and medication when appropriate.
My sessions are values-based and informed by modalities like CBT, ACT, and mindfulness—always tailored to your child’s developmental stage and needs. We’ll explore thoughts, emotions, relationships, and patterns to help make sense of what they’re experiencing.
Sessions are held in-person or virtually, so your teen or young adult can receive support from the comfort of home.
What is a values-based treatment approach?
Some teens struggle with connection, joy, and meaning, making it hard to believe things can improve.
My values-based approach helps your child identify core values and virtues, align actions with them, and take purposeful steps. Along the way, I integrate mindfulness, cognitive-behavioral tools, and creative exploration to keep the work practical and engaging.
The result is greater clarity and confident decision-making—and for already-motivated youth, a way to deepen strengths, prevent burnout, and grow with purpose.

Insurance Notice
We are a private-pay practice and do not accept commercial insurance or Medicare. At Inspire, we’re proud to offer exceptional individualized care with a high-touch, integrative, and collaborative approach—and unfortunately, traditional insurance models often place burdens that would make that impossible, limiting the time, attention, and quality of care we deliver. Since we are out-of-network, we work diligently to provide the highest quality care and service to you to make the best use of your time and resources.
We also provide receipts called Superbills upon request, and we encourage you to submit these to your health insurance carrier for out-of-network reimbursement. Also, if appropriate, you can request a “network gap exception” from your insurance carrier, which means they will pay for a higher amount of your appointment fees as if you were staying in-network; these are often granted if your insurance company can’t provide you with a certain type of care within a reasonable time frame. To determine what your personal costs will be or how your insurance carrier will reimburse you, please contact your carrier directly.
